Auto-entrepreneur grants and aids 2026

All aids for auto-entrepreneurs in France 2026: ACRE, ARCE, ARE, NACRE, honor loans, regional grants. Eligibility conditions and application steps.

Launching as an auto-entrepreneur in France does not mean funding everything yourself. In 2026, numerous public aids exist to reduce your charges, finance your startup, and secure your first months of activity. The problem? These aids are scattered across multiple agencies, their eligibility conditions are sometimes unclear, and many auto-entrepreneurs miss out entirely. This guide lists all available aids in 2026, with precise conditions, amounts, and procedures for each.

Creation aids: reduce your charges from day one

ACRE — social contribution exemption

ACRE (Aide à la Création ou à la Reprise d'Entreprise) is the most important aid for an auto-entrepreneur. It reduces your URSSAF social contributions by 50% during the first year of activity.

In numbers:

Activity typeStandard rateACRE rateSavings on €30,000 revenue
Goods sales (BIC)12.3%6.2%€1,830
Commercial services (BIC)21.2%10.6%€3,180
Liberal professions (BNC)21.1%10.6%€3,150

Who is eligible?

  • Job seekers (compensated or uncompensated for 6+ months)
  • RSA, ASS, or PreParE beneficiaries
  • Young people aged 18 to 25 (no additional condition)
  • Under 30 with a disability
  • Creators in QPV (Priority Urban Areas)
  • Anyone who has not benefited from ACRE in the last 3 years

How to apply? Submit the request when creating your micro-enterprise on the INPI one-stop portal. URSSAF silence for 30 days counts as acceptance.

Tip: Create your micro-enterprise at the start of a civil quarter (January 1, April 1, July 1, October 1) to maximize the ACRE duration, which runs until the end of the 4th civil quarter.

ARCE — capital from your unemployment rights

ARCE allows you to receive 60% of your remaining ARE rights as capital, paid in 2 installments (at creation and 6 months later). It is an excellent way to build startup cash flow.

Conditions:

  • Have open ARE rights
  • Have obtained ACRE (mandatory prerequisite)
  • Create or take over a business

Example: With €20,000 in remaining ARE rights, you receive approximately €11,640 net (after 3% complementary pension deduction), in two payments of ~€5,820.

Important: The choice between ARCE and maintaining ARE is irreversible. Study both options before deciding. Our detailed ARCE guide helps you make the right choice.

Income support: maintaining your resources

ARE + micro-enterprise combination

If you are registered with France Travail and receiving ARE, you can combine your benefits with your auto-entrepreneur income. Your ARE is recalculated each month based on your declared revenue, and days not paid extend your benefit duration.

The calculation:

  1. Your revenue is converted to income: Revenue × (1 - tax deduction) — 29% for sales, 50% for BIC services, 66% for BNC
  2. 70% of this income is deducted from your monthly ARE
  3. The remainder of ARE is paid to you

Major advantage: days not paid are not lost, they defer your rights. You can extend your coverage well beyond the initial duration.

For complete information, see our micro-enterprise and unemployment guide.

RSA and activity bonus (prime d'activité)

RSA: If your income is very low (revenue after deduction below RSA thresholds), you can receive RSA as a supplement. The amount depends on your family situation:

  • Single person: €635/month (2026 amount)
  • Couple without children: €953/month
  • Single person + 1 child: €953/month

Your micro-enterprise revenue is factored in after a specific deduction in the RSA calculation. For the first 3 months, only 62% of post-deduction revenue is considered.

Activity bonus (prime d'activité): More accessible, it is paid by the CAF to workers with modest income, including auto-entrepreneurs. For a single auto-entrepreneur without children billing €1,500/month in services, the activity bonus can reach €150 to €250/month.

Simulate your eligibility on the CAF website (caf.fr).

Financing aids: obtaining funds

NACRE — support and interest-free loan

NACRE (Nouvel Accompagnement pour la Création ou la Reprise d'Entreprise) is a 3-phase program:

  1. Project development support: guidance by an approved operator (4 months max)
  2. Financial structuring support: business plan development
  3. Startup support: follow-up for 3 years

The financial component of NACRE includes an interest-free loan from €1,000 to €10,000, for a duration of 1 to 5 years. This loan must be combined with a bank loan or honor loan.

Who is eligible?

  • Compensated job seekers
  • RSA or ASS beneficiaries
  • Young people aged 18 to 25 (or up to 29 with a disability)
  • Creators in QPV or ZRR (Rural Revitalization Zones)

Where to inquire? Contact the DREETS (formerly DIRECCTE) in your region or an approved NACRE operator.

Honor loans (prêts d'honneur)

Honor loans are personal interest-free loans, without guarantee or collateral, granted by support networks. They range from €2,000 to €50,000 depending on the network and project.

Main networks:

NetworkTypical amountTarget audience
Initiative France€2,000 to €50,000All creators (micro-enterprise included)
Réseau Entreprendre€15,000 to €50,000Projects with employment potential
ADIE (microcredit)€100 to €12,000People excluded from bank credit
France Active€5,000 to €30,000Creators in precarious situations

Advantage: Beyond funding, these networks offer mentoring by volunteer business leaders and a leverage effect with banks (an honor loan reassures bankers).

Professional microcredit (ADIE)

ADIE (Association pour le Droit à l'Initiative Économique) offers microcredits of up to €12,000 for people who lack access to traditional bank credit. Conditions are flexible:

  • No minimum income requirement
  • No personal contribution needed
  • Support included
  • Repayment over 6 to 48 months

This is a particularly suitable solution for auto-entrepreneurs starting with limited means.

Aids specific to certain groups

People with disabilities — AGEFIPH

AGEFIPH (Association de Gestion du Fonds pour l'Insertion Professionnelle des Personnes Handicapées) offers a business creation aid of up to €6,300 for disabled workers.

Conditions:

  • Recognized as a disabled worker (RQTH)
  • Personal contribution of at least €1,500
  • Completed a business creation training program

This aid can be combined with ACRE, ARCE, and other programs.

Women entrepreneurs — Garantie Égalité Femmes

The Garantie Égalité Femmes (formerly FGIF) is a France Active program that facilitates bank credit access for women business creators. It guarantees up to 80% of a bank loan, capped at €50,000.

It is a guarantee, not direct funding: it helps you obtain a bank loan more easily by covering part of the risk for the bank.

Creators in priority urban areas (QPV)

If you create your micro-enterprise in a QPV (Quartier Prioritaire de la politique de la Ville), you benefit from:

  • CFE exemption (local business tax) for 5 years
  • Automatic eligibility for ACRE (no other condition needed)
  • Easier access to NACRE and honor loans

Training aids

CPF — Personal Training Account

Your CPF (Compte Personnel de Formation) is usable even as a micro-enterprise owner. Each year of activity credits approximately €500 (capped at €5,000). CPF funds:

  • Professional training (web development, accounting, marketing...)
  • Business creation/management training
  • Skills assessments (bilan de compétences)
  • Validation of acquired experience (VAE)

Check your balance and eligible training on moncompteformation.gouv.fr.

FIFPL and FAFCEA — training funds

As an auto-entrepreneur, you contribute to professional training (0.1% to 0.3% of revenue). In return, you have access to training funds:

  • FIFPL (Fonds Interprofessionnel de Formation des Professions Libérales): for liberal professions (BNC)
  • FAFCEA (Fonds d'Assurance Formation des Chefs d'Entreprise Artisanale): for artisans

These funds cover all or part of your training costs (typically between €600 and €2,500/year depending on sectors and training programs).

Condition: You must have declared positive revenue at least once to qualify. If you have declared €0 on all your declarations, training funds will reject your application.

Regional and local aids

Programs vary by region

Each region offers its own business creation support programs. Among the most common:

  • Île-de-France: PM'up / TP'up programs (investment and development aid)
  • Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes: Ambition Éco (consulting and investment support)
  • Nouvelle-Aquitaine: Réseau Entreprendre, local Initiative
  • Occitanie: Regional honor loan, rural area installation aid
  • Bretagne: PASS Création, CCI/CMA support

How to find aids in your region?

  1. BPI France: The "Les aides" tool (les-aides.bpifrance.fr) lists all aids by region and profile
  2. CCI (Chamber of Commerce and Industry): your local CCI knows your territory's programs
  3. CMA (Chamber of Trades and Crafts): for artisanal activities
  4. Regional council: check your region's website, "economy" or "business creation" section

Advice: Contact your CCI or CMA before creating your micro-enterprise. A free appointment with an advisor will help you identify all the aids available in your area.

Common mistakes to avoid

1. Not applying for ACRE in time

ACRE must be requested when creating your micro-enterprise or within 45 days. After that deadline, it is too late. This is the most costly mistake: you lose thousands of euros in savings.

2. Choosing ARCE without thinking

ARCE seems attractive (immediate cash), but the ARE combination is often more financially advantageous, especially if your activity starts slowly. Run a comparative simulation before deciding.

3. Ignoring local aids

Regional and local aids are often unknown, but they can represent significant amounts. A simple call to your CCI can reveal programs you hadn't considered.

4. Forgetting about training

Professional training is a right. Your contributions fund FIFPL or FAFCEA: use them. Training in accounting, digital marketing, or management can make a difference for your business.

5. Not declaring any revenue

Some auto-entrepreneurs declare zero revenue to "stay under the radar." This is a serious mistake: without declared revenue, you don't contribute to retirement, you lose access to training funds, and you risk having your micro-enterprise deregistered.

The right sequence: in what order to apply for aids?

Here is the optimal order to maximize your aids:

  1. Before creation:

    • Register with France Travail (if leaving a job)
    • Contact your CCI/CMA for a free assessment
    • Identify available regional aids
    • Prepare an honor loan application if needed
  2. At creation:

    • Create your micro-enterprise on the one-stop portal (formalites.entreprises.gouv.fr)
    • Apply for ACRE simultaneously
    • Inform France Travail of your creation
  3. Just after creation:

    • Apply for ARCE (if you choose this option) or declare the ARE combination
    • Submit your NACRE application if eligible
    • Contact ADIE or Initiative France for additional funding
  4. In the first months:

    • Apply for the activity bonus from CAF (after your first revenue declaration)
    • Register with FIFPL or FAFCEA for training
    • Simulate your contributions to verify the ACRE impact

FAQ — Auto-entrepreneur aids

Can I combine multiple aids?

Yes, most aids are combinable. You can, for example, benefit from ACRE + ARCE + activity bonus + honor loan. Each aid has its own conditions, but they generally do not exclude each other.

I am an employee creating a business on the side, am I entitled to aids?

If you are a salaried employee on a permanent contract and create your micro-enterprise alongside (which is entirely possible — see our guide on combining micro-enterprise and employment), you will not have access to unemployment-related aids (ARCE, ARE). You can still benefit from ACRE if you meet another eligibility criterion (< 25 years old, QPV, etc.).

Are aids taxable?

  • ACRE: no, it is a contribution reduction (not income)
  • ARCE: yes, taxable as wages and salaries
  • ARE: yes, taxable
  • Honor loans: no, it is a loan (to be repaid)
  • Activity bonus: no, tax-exempt
  • RSA: no, tax-exempt

I am already an auto-entrepreneur, am I still entitled to aids?

ACRE and ARCE are reserved for creation. But you still have access to CPF, training funds (FIFPL/FAFCEA), the activity bonus, and possibly regional development aids. For creation-related aids, you would need to close and recreate your micro-enterprise (respecting a waiting period).

Conclusion

Aids for auto-entrepreneurs are numerous and often underutilized. Between ACRE (contribution savings), ARCE or ARE combination (income security), honor loans (interest-free funding), and local aids, you can save or receive tens of thousands of euros when launching your business. The key is to plan before creation: identify your entitlements, prepare your applications, and follow the right sequence. A meeting with your local CCI and a visit to les-aides.bpifrance.fr are the first steps to take.
